We all know that dolphins(海豚)can do something like humans. For example, they may teach one another skills, and even help look after each other's kids. Now,some researchers at the Dolphin Plus Marine Mammal Responder in Florida,USA have found another thing the smart animals share with humans—a love for television!
For their research,Kelly A. Winship and Holli C. Eskelinen watched
16 dolphins. They played two TV shows for the animals. One show was a documentary (纪录片)called Planet Earth, and the other was a cartoon named Spongebob Squarepants. The researchers said the dolphins did not seem to care what the show was. They were interested in both.
However, the researchers found that the male(雄性的)dolphins spent more time looking at the screens than the females(雌性). And the dolphins sometimes looked upset when they were watching TV. Winship and Eskelinen believed it was probably because the dolphins couldn't share how they felt with the TV.
Though there is a lot more to learn about why the animals like to watch TV,the researchers believe that they can use TV shows to help make the dolphins' life more fun. They also think watching the dolphins' response(反应)to different kinds of shows could help them understand how the animals think.
1. Dolphins share a lot of things with____________.
2. Researchers watched __________to find out their response to two TV
shows.
3. Researchers found that the dolphins were ________both TV shows. 4. Sometimes the dolphins looked upset when watching TV probably
because they were not able to __________.
5. Researchers want to understand __________by watching their
response to different TV shows.
