摘要：An insulated bar or panel, usable in walls, ceilings-floors or roofs, including newor used cans of metal, glass or plastic, preferably having lengths less than twelve timestheir diameters, containing insulation (preferably inexpensive insulation such as looseearth, pumice or crushed lava, tanbark, small lumps of pine or other bark, slightly charredsawdust, bits of charcoal or coke, preferably preservative treated cottonseed or ricehulls or the like, cotton linters or bolls, tufts of cotton or rockwool, or vermiculite). Thecans, which for example may be of paint-containing or coffee-containing type, are end-joined in a line. They are imbedded in a shape-holding matrix of plastic material(preferably porous, foamed plastic or porous concrete of portland, epoxy or othercement, mixed with lightweight aggregate, thus forming a strong, elongated bar orpanel. Each adjacent pair of the can-end caps are fastened together -- preferably by aband of adhesive tape encompassing the rims of the can ends, but optionally by solder,epoxy putty or other bonding material. Optionally, the cans may be in two sizes, with anend cap of each smaller can epoxy-glued or soldered in the end recess of an end cap of alarger can. The invention includes a wall (upright wall, ceiling, floor or roof) of theconstruction elements, laid with mortar between them, and stuccoed, plastered or
painted on one or both sides, and a method of making it and the can-containing element.
